Custom storage for every kind of Mississauga home

Red Rose Custom Closets has been building custom closet systems for Ontario homeowners since 2018, and Mississauga is one of the most varied housing markets we work in. A one-bedroom near Square One and a four-bedroom detached in Churchill Meadows have almost nothing in common — except that both were usually handed over with the same vinyl-coated wire shelving.

In condos, the bedroom closet is often the only real storage in the unit. There is no basement, no garage and no spare room, so a single reach-in has to carry the whole household. The biggest unused volume in most Mississauga condos is the two to three feet of air above the hanging rod. We design to the ceiling, add drawer banks so a dresser can leave the bedroom entirely, and split hanging into short and long zones so nothing is wasted.

In townhomes and detached homes the problem inverts: the closets are larger, but they are still laid out as one rod and one shelf. A primary walk-in in a newer subdivision is frequently a square room with a rail around two walls and a lot of dead air above it. Those are the projects where an L-shaped or U-shaped system, a proper shoe wall and a bank of drawers change how the whole room works.

Local context

The Mississauga storage problem

Four patterns come up again and again across the city. Which one applies to you usually depends on when your home was built, and whether you have storage anywhere other than the bedroom.

Condos and high-rises

No basement and no garage means the bedroom closet carries everything — off-season coats, luggage, linens. Full-height design and drawer banks matter more here than anywhere else in the city.

Builder-grade wire shelving

Vinyl-coated wire is the default in most Mississauga builds. It sags under folded clothes, small items tip through the gaps, and it leaves the space above the rod completely unused.

Older homes near the lake

Homes in Mineola and parts of Port Credit were built when a wardrobe was a piece of furniture. Closets are shallow, narrow and non-standard, and often suit a built-in wardrobe better than a retrofit.

Large detached homes

A bigger closet is not automatically a better one. Most primary walk-ins in newer Mississauga subdivisions are a single rail on two walls, with the top third of the room unused.

Where we work

Mississauga neighbourhoods we serve

Red Rose serves every part of Mississauga. These notes describe the housing stock in each area — what the closets are usually like, and what tends to be worth changing.

Port Credit

Waterfront condo buildings alongside older detached streets — a mix of very tight reach-ins and character homes with almost no closet depth to work with.

Erin Mills

Large 1980s to 2000s detached homes with generous primary bedrooms, usually paired with a builder-grade closet interior that never matched the room.

Churchill Meadows

2000s detached homes and freehold townhomes, typically finished with wire shelving in every closet including the primary walk-in.

Streetsville

Older village homes sitting beside newer infill builds. Closet sizes vary street to street, so designs here are almost always one-offs.

Mineola

Mature lots and heavily renovated older homes, where closets were often added after the fact and rarely land on a standard width.

Meadowvale

1970s to 1990s homes and townhomes with narrow reach-ins — the spaces that gain the most from double hanging and a drawer bank.

What we build

Closet solutions for Mississauga homes

01

Walk-In Closets

For detached homes in Erin Mills, Churchill Meadows and Streetsville, we replace the single perimeter rail with a full L-shaped or U-shaped system — double hanging where the height allows, long hanging for coats and dresses, drawer banks, and shelving carried to the ceiling instead of stopping at seven feet.

02

Reach-In Closets

The workhorse of Mississauga condos and secondary bedrooms. Every system is built to your exact opening — up to 130 inches wide and up to 10 feet tall — so nothing disappears into filler panels or an unreachable top shelf you never use.

03

Wardrobes & Closet Doors

Older homes in Mineola and Port Credit sometimes have no usable closet at all. A built-in wardrobe adds hanging and drawer storage against a flat wall, and sliding or bi-fold doors keep the floorplan clear in condo bedrooms where a swing door costs you usable floor.

04

Built-In Storage

Foyers, mudrooms, entertainment walls and laundry storage. In a Mississauga condo this is frequently where coats, shoes and seasonal items finally get a proper home instead of competing for the bedroom closet.

Our work

Closets we have built across Ontario

We have not published a photographed project gallery for Mississauga specifically. Rather than show stock photography or work from somewhere else and imply it was built here, we would rather point you at the real thing: photographed projects from real Ontario homes are on our portfolio and Instagram, and 100 customers across our Ontario service area have reviewed the work on Google.

If you would like to see examples closest to your own home type — a condo reach-in, a townhome primary closet, a full walk-in — ask when you get in touch and we will send relevant photos directly.

How it works

From online design to installed closet

  1. Design online

Pick your closet type, enter your wall dimensions, choose height and base style, then place the modules you want. It takes a few minutes and nothing is booked.

  2. Get an estimate

Your price updates live as you build, itemised by base system, drawers, height and base upgrades, and HST. No waiting for a callback to find out the number.

  3. Confirm the design

We review the design with you and confirm the real measurements in your Mississauga home before anything is cut, so the system fits the opening you actually have.

  4. We manufacture it

Your system is cut and built to those measurements in Ontario — sized to your walls rather than assembled from standard cabinet widths.

  5. We install it

Our team removes the old shelving, patches the wall, and installs the new system. A single closet is typically a one-day install.

Why Red Rose

Why Mississauga homeowners choose us

Design it online first

A 3D closet designer that prices your build as you go. You see the layout and the number before you talk to a salesperson, because there isn't one.

Built to your measurements

Every system is cut to the actual opening in your Mississauga home — up to 130 inches wide and 10 feet tall — so nothing is lost to filler panels.

Made in Ontario

We manufacture on our own equipment rather than importing a catalogue product, which is why non-standard widths, depths and ceiling heights are routine rather than surcharges.

Installed by our own team

Karan and Mehak oversee every project from the first call to the final install. The people who quote your closet are the people who deliver it.

2-year warranty

Every Red Rose system carries a 2-year warranty, and because the parts are made here, a replacement is cut on the same equipment as the original.

Questions

Custom closets in Mississauga — common questions

Do you install custom closets in Mississauga condos?

Yes — condo and high-rise units are a regular part of the work we do in Mississauga. Most buildings ask you to book a service elevator and keep work inside set hours, so once your design is approved we agree on an installation date that fits your building rules. Your system is cut to size before we arrive, so the install is a quiet assembly rather than a day of cutting inside your unit.

How much does a custom closet cost in Mississauga?

Reach-in systems start at $650 for openings up to 49 inches wide, and $750 across the 50 to 96 inch range that covers most condo and bedroom closets. An L-shaped walk-in system starts at $1,250, which covers most primary closets in Mississauga's detached homes. Drawers are $125 each, and taller ceilings or a closed base add a proportional amount. All figures are before 13% HST. You can build your exact closet in our online designer and see the full breakdown before speaking to anyone.

Can you replace the wire shelving the builder installed?

That is one of the most common jobs we do in Mississauga. We take out the existing wire shelving and brackets, patch the anchor holes left behind, and install your new system in the same opening. If you are also planning to repaint the closet, doing it between removal and installation gives the cleanest result.

My condo bedroom closet is small. Is a custom system worth it?

Small closets usually gain the most, proportionally. A standard condo reach-in with one rod and one shelf typically wastes the top two to three feet entirely, and anything folded above eye level is effectively out of reach. Splitting the same opening into double hanging on one side, drawers below and shelving carried to the ceiling changes how much of it you can actually use day to day.

Which parts of Mississauga do you cover?

All of it — Port Credit, Erin Mills, Churchill Meadows, Streetsville, Mineola, Meadowvale and everywhere in between. Red Rose serves Ontario, and Mississauga sits in the middle of our core GTA service area, so there is no travel surcharge anywhere in the city.

Can I design my closet online before anyone comes out?

Yes. Our online designer walks you through closet type, wall dimensions, ceiling height, base style and the modules you want, and prices it live as you build. You can save it, adjust it later, and submit it when you are ready. Final measurements are confirmed before anything is manufactured, so the online design is a starting point you control rather than a commitment.
