We have a large household. Can a closet actually hold that much?
Usually far more than the builder version does. The single biggest gain is splitting one hanging rod into a double-hang section, which roughly doubles the hanging capacity in the same width. Adding a drawer bank inside the closet lets the dressers leave the bedroom, and carrying shelving to the ceiling recovers the two to three feet above the original shelf. Those three changes together are what make a standard opening work for a full house.
How much does a custom closet cost in Brampton?
Reach-in systems start at $650 for openings up to 49 inches and $750 across the 50 to 96 inch range, which covers most Brampton bedroom closets. Walk-in systems start at $1,250 for an L-shaped layout and $1,550 for a U-shaped one. Drawers are $125 each. All figures are before 13% HST. Pricing follows your wall measurements, not your postal code, so a Springdale closet and a Castlemore closet of the same size cost the same.
Can we do several bedrooms at once?
Yes, and in Brampton that is the most common way projects run. Once the primary walk-in is being done, the secondary reach-ins are a small fraction of the cost and the crew is already on site, so they are usually scheduled into the same visit rather than spread over separate trips.
Our closets are the original 1970s size. Is there anything you can do?
Yes, though the answer is sometimes not to force everything into the original opening. Older Bramalea-era closets can be too shallow for a hanger to hang square, so we build to the measured depth rather than a standard, and where the depth simply is not there we will suggest moving some of the storage to a built-in wardrobe on an adjacent wall instead.
Do you remove the old wire shelving?
Yes. We take out the shelving, brackets and wall standards, patch the anchor holes, and install the new system in the same opening. No structural work is involved. If you are planning to repaint the closet interior, the gap between removal and installation is the easiest time to do it.
Can I design it online before anyone comes to the house?
Yes. The online designer takes you through closet type, wall dimensions, ceiling height, base style and modules, and prices it live as you build. You can save it and come back to it. Final measurements are confirmed with you before manufacturing, so nothing is committed by the online design alone.
